Welcome to BluBot! This document outlines the Terms of Service ("Terms") and Privacy Policy for BluBot, a Discord bot designed to enhance your server experience. By using or inviting BluBot, you agree to these Terms and the handling of data as described below.

What BluBot Does

• Social media updates: Automatically posts updates from Twitch, YouTube RSS, and Nitter RSS to your Discord server.
• Moderation logs: Sends real-time logs of message edits, deletions, kicks, and bans to a designated channel in your server.
• Games: Includes fun activities like counting, Connect 4, and Cards Against Humanity.
• Custom bot hosting: Allows users to host their own bot using a supplied bot token, with future support for custom commands.

Terms of Service

Who Can Use BluBot

Anyone with a Discord account can use BluBot. There are no additional age restrictions beyond Discord’s own requirements (typically 13+). Server administrators or users with the necessary permissions can invite and configure BluBot.

Rules for Using BluBot

• No spamming: Do not abuse BluBot’s commands or features.
• No illegal activities: Do not use BluBot for anything unlawful or harmful to others.
• Custom bot hosting responsibility: If you use the custom bot hosting feature, you are fully responsible for what your bot does.

User-Generated Content

BluBot may process or display content created by users, such as messages in games, custom bot commands, or other interactions. When available, custom commands for sub-bots (e.g., text triggers like `!custom-command` or keyword responses) are considered user-generated content. By using BluBot, you agree that:

• You are solely responsible for any content you generate or submit through BluBot, including sub-bot command outputs.
• User-generated content must not violate Discord’s Community Guidelines, these Terms, or any applicable laws.
• Sub-bot admins define custom commands, and BluBot processes them without storing outputs unless required for functionality. Users should avoid configuring commands that collect or expose sensitive information.
• We reserve the right to remove or disable features related to user-generated content that we deem inappropriate, harmful, or in violation of these Terms, at our sole discretion.

Third-Party Services

BluBot uses usernames you provide to fetch updates from Twitch, YouTube, and Nitter, posting them to your chosen Discord channel. For Twitch, you may supply API keys to increase request limits; you are responsible for managing these keys and complying with Twitch’s API terms. We are not liable for issues arising from API key usage or third-party service disruptions. These services have their own policies, which you should review if you use those features.

Custom Bot Hosting

If you use BluBot to host a custom bot, we act solely as the host. You control the bot’s settings, actions, and content, including custom commands when implemented. Sub-bot admins or server owners configure custom commands and determine who can execute them within their server. BluBot does not control these permissions but may suspend hosting if command usage violates our Terms (e.g., spamming or illegal activities). We are not responsible for any messages, logs, or actions performed by your hosted bot.

Disclaimers

BluBot is provided "as-is" without any guarantees. We are not liable for:

• Downtime, bugs, or interruptions.
• Content or actions generated by BluBot based on user settings, custom bot configurations, or user-generated content, including custom command outputs or keyword responses.
• Any legal or other consequences resulting from the use of BluBot.

Privacy Policy

What Data We Collect

• Social media tracking: Information you provide (such as Twitch, YouTube, or Nitter account details) to enable update posting.
• Custom bot hosting: If you use this feature, we collect your bot token and related settings to facilitate hosting.
• User-generated content: Data from interactions like game responses or, when available, custom command outputs from sub-bots (e.g., responses to triggers or keywords) are treated as bot messages and not logged or stored by BluBot, unless specified by the sub-bot’s configuration.

Moderation logs (message edits, deletions, kicks, bans) are processed in real-time and immediately sent to a designated channel in your server. We do not store this data.

Why We Collect It

• Social media tracking: To fetch and post updates from the specified accounts.
• Custom bot hosting: To operate and host your bot on your behalf.
• User-generated content: To enable features like games or, when implemented, custom command interactions.

How We Store It

• Data you provide (such as social media tracking info, bot tokens, or user-generated content required for functionality) is stored in a secure database with no internet access.
• If you remove BluBot from your server or stop using a feature, we delete your data within 30 days.
• Moderation logs apply to BluBot’s core features and are never stored. Sub-bots may perform independent logging via custom commands, which is controlled by the sub-bot admin and not governed by BluBot’s no-storage commitment.
• User-generated content from sub-bot custom commands is processed in real-time and not retained by BluBot, consistent with our no-storage policy for bot messages. Sub-bot admins are responsible for any independent storage their bots perform.

Sharing Data

We do not sell or share your data, except in the following cases:

• Legal compliance: If required by law (e.g., court order).
• Third-party services: We only share data necessary to use services like Twitch, YouTube, and Nitter.

Your Rights

• Want to stop using BluBot? Remove it from your server, and we’ll delete your data.
• Need data deleted? Contact us via the /contact command, and we’ll handle it.
